You are two months old! This was quite the month for you! You've started to stay awake and are aware. You recognize Daddy's voice and try to look at him when you hear him talking. You stare straight up at me when I talk to you.
By far the most exciting thing that happened is that you've started smiling! And what an adorable smile it is! Your entire face curls up and you stick out your tongue, and you smile with your whole body. You've started talking/cooing to yourself and responding to Daddy or me. You've also started to make frustrated noises and little squawks before crying to try to get us to know what you need. Mama's going to start teaching you ASL soon!
You hold your head up like a pro and can sit up with barely any help besides balancing. Until you get tired, and then you just kind of slump forward. Daddy discovered you love standing and can do that for a long time if we help you balance! You like getting put up on our shoulders so you can push yourself up and stare around at everything. You suddenly noticed yourself in the mirror and can't stop staring. I think you think it's another baby in there! You also decided that it was perfectly acceptable to roll over. You haven't done it since, but I think you'll be doing that regularly and sitting up by the time I write your 3mos letter.
You had your 2mos checkup, with shots. You handled it like a pro, though you did scream a bit (understandably!). You are now 12lbs and 23" long! That puts you in the 79th percentile for your age! Doctor says you look great and are growing amazing. Anyone who sees you always says how healthy and awesome you look. Oh, because you grew like that, you are now fitting into 3mos old clothing and none of your newborn things fit! Quite a shock for Mama!
We met with our dear friends Cody and Jess today for lunch, and you got to meet their adorable boy Charlie. He looked at you, went "Baby!", and went back to playing. You stared a long time at him. I think you were fascinated by his hair! This week Grandpa and Nana are coming to visit. They haven't seen you since you were only a week old, so this will be quite a fun trip for them!
We love you so much, Little Frog! And it's amazing to see how you've grown since you were born and how much you've changed!
