You are five months old! I would have written this on your actual month birthday, but we were stuck at the airport instead. This month has been quite the time for you! A lot of first things you got to experience and learn.
You have practically learned how to sit up on your own. You loovveee standing. You think it's the greatest thing in the world to talk to Daddy when he's talking to you or to other people.
Another first thing you got this month was going on a plane-ride to visit Grandpa and Nana in Virginia! I was a bit worried you wouldn't like it, but you were quite a trooper. You slept in the Moby wrap almost the whole way, and only squawked when you wanted food. Everyone on the plane was enthralled by your eyes and kept saying you were the cutest baby ever.
You cannot stop smiling! And talking/babbling. You have woken me up several times in the morning to you just sitting in your rocker, babbling away to yourself. I like to think you're telling me the dreams you had.
Speaking of dreams, you've begun to have night-terrors/nightmares. They break Momma and Daddy's heart, cause you wake up screaming at night. We both rush over to hold you and whisper that everything is ok, and that we're here. You immediately calm down and hug onto us.
That is also a new skill you have learned! How to hold onto/grab things! You get this concentrated look, reach out your hand, and then grab! We like to go "You got it!!" when you do this which makes you light up in a smile.
We had such a great time in Virginia with Grandpa and Nana, even though (another first) you had your first cold. And you thought I was trying to murder you by sucking your brain out through your nose.
I love how in this picture you were holding onto Daddy to make sure he was still there. :)
You discovered cars have windows! You got quite a kick watching all the green go by.
As illustrated in this picture, you hold your head up just fine now! You also love rolling off of people onto the bed, which Momma discovered in a rather startling manner.
Sleeping buddies at home. Alice is finally realizing you're pretty cool; and you're finally noticing her! You also met some dogs over the last week and couldn't stop giggling as you touched their noses. They also licked your hands to no end and your feet, which you also thought was the funniest thing ever.
You loved this swing!
We have another bookworm!
We also went shopping! And you got such a kick being pulled around in the wagon.
Overall, this past month has been a rather busy amazing one for all of us! You'll be rolling over and crawling soon, I have no doubt. You are also teething like nobody's business! Which means you are drooling everywhere and have decided fingers are the best teethers. You also use your tongue to explore everything, which I discovered when I had you up by my neck and I had turned to talk to someone and suddenly felt you gumming away at my chin. I couldn't stop laughing.
Here's to another month, babydoll. We love you to pieces and are so thankful for you!
