Four Years

Four years ago today I woke up nervous, excited, overjoyed, and absolutely thrilled to be marrying the Love of my Life.

Today, I woke up next to the Love of my life and our 4 1/2 month old daughter, and couldn't believe how lucky and blessed I am!

It's hard to believe it's already been four years. I wouldn't change anything for the world.

The last four years have brought so much change and adventure and new things; I cannot wait to see what the next four years (and more) hold!

I love you, Darling Boy! You are the best thing to have ever happened to me. I love you more than yesterday, and less than tomorrow.

Come What May.

Birthday

Today….I am a quarter-century old. I feel very strange about this. I’ve known my “Twin” for 20 years, now.

So much has happened in the last year, it’s hard to even describe. This year seems like good things will be happening. Or it’s at least begun to point in a good direction. I hope it stays.

Birthday plans are Hubby's department. Apparently he has been “plotting”. I am excited to see what he has planned. Though getting made a fuss over for my BD is odd. I’m not used to it.

I want to get a couple new Inks done for my BD. We shall see if $ works out for that.

I should probably do a more introspective, serious blogpost about this past year; and the things I've learned and grown in and such. For now though, I'm just kind of in a "Wow. It's already been a year!" mode.

Happy 4 Months

Dear MollyKat,

You are 4 months old today! How time is flying. That means I have officially been back at work for a month, and you have been in daycare for a month.

You have grown so much in such a short time. (Warning, this post will be full of pictures and videos!) You've gone from sometimes talking and laughing to constantly smiling and giggling. You are so observant! You stare and stare and think really hard about things; and then do them. You're like your daddy in that.

You've begun loving to play! You will giggle and laugh as you try to grab onto rattles. We got this new toy and you think it is the most amazing thing ever! Especially that monkey. You can't get enough of it. You keep bouncing up and down, and love the rattling noise it makes!

Your hand/eye coordination is getting amazing! If you see something you want to grab, you concentrate and then reach out and grab it. Momma discovered this when you decided her glasses were something to be grabbed. You also have figured out how to hold your own bottle!

You are finding everything fascinating. And trying to repeat it all the time. You've discovered that Momma and Daddy will do silly voices and that it is the funniest thing ever. You are even more so now in the "must taste everything because OMG I HAVE A TONGUE" phase. Which means you alternate between trying to eat everything and trying to pull your own tongue out of your mouth. Momma and Daddy find this incredibly entertaining to watch.

You are trying so hard to talk. You babble away and look at us to see if we're paying attention/talking back. We also discovered that you love to watch cartoons! This gives Momma and Daddy a much needed break at times.

You thought Peter Pan was the best movie, which made Momma smile because it means you are a girl after her own heart.

Momma couldn't stop smiling at how much you were laughing and giggling at Peter Pan.

This past weekend, we took you on your first beach trip to Laguna to visit Daddy's aunt! It was so much fun!

Daddy's aunt was so very glad to see you!

You also got your first taste of strawberry! And boy, did you love it!

You even got super cranky when Forrest took it away!

You really nom'd that strawberry to death! Once again, a girl after Momma's own heart. If you hadn't liked strawberries, I would have been sad!

You weren't that excited for the beach. You mostly slept! However, I did manage to get a couple of cute shots of you in your swimsuit from Nana and Grandpa!

(That is your, "Momma, why do you always take my picture??" face)

And this is when you woke up and you were hanging out with Daddy. You were watching the kids on the playground!

We actually did take you down a couple slides at the playground! No pictures however. You looked rather confused and then smiled. But it didn't seem to be your favorite. I wanted to try the baby-swing, but there was already another baby in there.

Tomorrow you have your 4mos checkup. I cannot believe it is already time. The day after is my birthday! How time is flying.

We are so proud of you, Babydoll. You are growing up so quickly. It feels like anytime I blink, you are suddenly bigger and doing a new thing. You are pulling yourself up into a sitting position! And during tummy-time, you are holding your head up like a pro and starting to wiggle. I have a feeling you will be moving before we know it! You've also taken to divebombing off of me, if I'm holding you in bed. You kind of do this shove off and roll and fall onto the bed, and then start giggling. You love being "whooshed" up in the air, smiling so much.

You love to hear Daddy talk. Anytime you hear his voice you start smiling and trying to see where he is. It is the cutest thing I have ever seen. The more you grow, the more you look like him. You have some of my mannerisms, but you definitely have more of him. Including the annoyance of light in your eyes when you try to sleep. You literally grunt angrily in your sleep and pull your blankets over your head.

I cannot wait to see what the next month holds for you, MollyKat!

Happy 3 Months

Dear Molly,

You are 3 months old now! I cannot believe how fast the time is flying. This month marked some huge fun changes for you!

You've started babbling/cooing and otherwise talking with us! It's quite fun to sit and make the noises back at you and watch your entire face smile as you respond. I was holding you in the ringsling the other night and humming to you to try to get you to sleep. I glanced down to see you looking up at me with that concentrated look. You then spat out your pacifier and started trying to hum back at me! It was super cute!

You're able to sit up with very little help! By that I mean, you can pretty much sit up as long as you're balanced against something/someone. You hold your head up with no problem, and are starting to stand for periods of time. You get so happy when you stand up or are sitting, probably because you can then look around at the world. I put you in the Bumbo seat, and you sat in it for a good twenty minutes just looking around! Silly me, I forgot to get a picture though.

MollyKat, you are growing so unbelievably fast! I cannot believe you are three months already! It is amazing to see how much you've changed in so short a time. You are so responsive and aware and smiley now! It's only a matter of time before you start giggling/laughing. I've gotten a few sounds that sound like a giggle, but nothing consistently yet.

When you wake up in the morning and see me glancing down at you, you get this huge grin and do this cute little wiggle. It makes me melt. Though it also makes me wonder if you are indeed my child, since you are so happy at 5 in the morning. Hehe.

You have started sleeping through the night!! It makes Momma and Daddy so very happy! Thank you thank you!

Today, we dropped you off at daycare, and I went back to work. It is an odd feeling to know you are there, and not here. I keep thinking that I should be listening for you to wake up, cause you'll be hungry; but then I remember you're with someone else who is caring for you, and I don't have to worry. This makes me happy but also slightly sad. But I know they will take good care of you at your daycare, and that you will learn and grow and make friends!

I cannot wait to see what you do this month! We love you so much, MollyKat.

P.s., As you'll be able to tell from the pictures, you have discovered your hands! And you think they are the tastiest things ever! You also have decided that everything must be licked in order to discover what it is. It's quite entertaining!

Feel like a New Person

I've taken steps to feel better, and it definitely is helping. I feel like a brand-new person. It is amazing.

New hairdo!

Also, Molly is doing really well! Here's our Little Frog!

And someone has learned how to suck her thumb! Looks familiar.

Two Months

Dear Little Frog,

You are two months old! This was quite the month for you! You've started to stay awake and are aware. You recognize Daddy's voice and try to look at him when you hear him talking. You stare straight up at me when I talk to you.

By far the most exciting thing that happened is that you've started smiling! And what an adorable smile it is! Your entire face curls up and you stick out your tongue, and you smile with your whole body. You've started talking/cooing to yourself and responding to Daddy or me. You've also started to make frustrated noises and little squawks before crying to try to get us to know what you need. Mama's going to start teaching you ASL  soon!

You hold your head up like a pro and can sit up with barely any help besides balancing. Until you get tired, and then you just kind of slump forward. Daddy discovered you love standing and can do that for a long time if we help you balance! You like getting put up on our shoulders so you can push yourself up and stare around at everything. You suddenly noticed yourself in the mirror and can't stop staring. I think you think it's another baby in there! You also decided that it was perfectly acceptable to roll over. You haven't done it since, but I think you'll be doing that regularly and sitting up by the time I write your 3mos letter.

You had your 2mos checkup, with shots. You handled it like a pro, though you did scream a bit (understandably!). You are now 12lbs and 23" long! That puts you in the 79th percentile for your age! Doctor says you look great and are growing amazing. Anyone who sees you always says how healthy and awesome you look. Oh, because you grew like that, you are now fitting into 3mos old clothing and none of your newborn things fit! Quite a shock for Mama!

We met with our dear friends Cody and Jess today for lunch, and you got to meet their adorable boy Charlie. He looked at you, went "Baby!", and went back to playing. You stared a long time at him. I think you were fascinated by his hair! This week Grandpa and Nana are coming to visit. They haven't seen you since you were only a week old, so this will be quite a fun trip for them!

We love you so much, Little Frog! And it's amazing to see how you've grown since you were born and how much you've changed!

Love,
Mama and Daddy

P.s. By far, my favorite picture of you!
